I wanted YOU to know the family is grateful for the time you spent with her these last months she had. You have been a gift to Momma, my sister & I. Mom loved seeing you & you have been the only doctor that she trusted since this illness began to take hold. You gave us some hope that she would get better, and she was much better in a lot of ways. Because Momma trusted you, Emily & I didn't have to worry if she was going to her doctor appointments or taking her medicine. I cannot express to you, the relief this provided.
I need you to know that YOU allowed Emily & I to breathe for a few months knowing there was finally, after all these years of struggle, someone on our team with us. Someone finally cared & saw beauty in bringing Momma back to the person trapped behind her illness. I believe in my heart you truly cared about seeing mom improve.
In all my years of having my family go through psychiatric care, nobody has taken the time like you have to examine the entire picture of health, to track progress on a weekly basis, to meet with the family. You got it. You saw through the trappings & pulled mom to the surface to breathe again.
I know you know mom was a beautiful person. After going through her letters & photos & family documenting she had done, some 10 years ago, it is clear how hard her brain was fighting against her. Se was a fighter too; she has been her entire life and she fought until the end.
However, through these fights throughout her life, she somehow managed to nurture others through it all; with her Nursing & her relationships with her family. She was always thinking of others, checking in, doing hospital visits. Our mother was vibrant, fun, but most of all she was a healer.
You provided a gift of hope these last months for her & the family we needed. We will never be able to express our gratitude for you efforts.
With Much Appreciation,
